Dr. Jones received a Bachelor of Arts degree and medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1988. He went on to complete a three year internship and residency at the UMKC Consortium Hospitals in Internal Medicine. Following residency he entered the private practice of Internal Medicine for several years. He then chose to pursue a specialty practice in Gastroenterology/Hepatology and completed a three year fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas in 2002.

Dr. Jones is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Jones enjoys the diagnostic challenge of medicine and the ability to help patients with difficult gastrointestinal diseases. Dr. Jones' hobbies include traveling, flyfishing, skiing, and reading.
