Steven D. Kaster, M.D.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Christian University, Dr. Kaster earned his medical degree at the University of Kansas-School of Medicine in 1989. He went on to complete his internship and residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, serving an extra year as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Kaster then completed a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Kaster is Board Certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Kaster chose the medical profession because he enjoys the intellectual challenge of trying to understand the human body in the context of a patient’s struggle with illness. The aspect that he enjoys most in day to day practice is the personal interaction with patients and their families during times of illness. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Kaster finds pleasure in spending time with his family, exercising, reading and gardening.
