Dr. Landers graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in 1960. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Landers completed his internship and residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, in Kansas City, and went on to complete a two-year Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1970.

Dr. Landers has been in private practice in the Kansas City area since 1970. He is an Associate Member of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, as well as many other local and national societies.

Dr. Landers enjoys and supports the William Jewell Fine Arts Program. He is a member of the Jefferson Club of the University of Missouri. Dr. Landers has served on the Board of Trustees of William Jewell College since 1981.
