Crohn’s Disease

Crohn’s disease is a chronic, recurrent inflammatory disease of the intestinal tract. While the cause of Crohn’s disease is unknown, the condition occurs in both sexes and among all age groups. It most frequently begins in young people, however. The systems of Crohn’s disease can include recurrent pain in the right lower abdomen and diarrhea. Fever, weight loss and fatigue can also occur. A series of tests are used to assess a patient’s condition. Although there is no known cure for the disorder, once diagnosed, effective medical and surgical treatment is available.
